Renovation assessment in the South of England

We’re providing an energy assessment of an existing building renovation in the South of England. The property, a Victorian manor on the site of an old military barracks is being updated to 6 modern flats. We’re assessing the site for compliance under Part L of Building regulations. With every renovation project we provide a report outlining the most appropriate method to achieve compliance, and evidence for Building Control, demonstrating compliance.

The site achieves compliance through a number of updates to the existing building, and new elements. All new walls, doors and windows are highly insulated to prevent heat loss. Existing walls, doors and windows have been renovated to keep the building’s character and classic appearance. The heating system has been completely replaced with modern mains gas boilers which are highly energy efficient. Roofs and floors have been updated with a good amount of insulation. The overall effect greatly reduces the building’s total energy efficiency without compromising design.
