
We are working with a UK based housebuilder on a large housing development in Bedfordshire. We are providing the client with SAPs, EPCs for Part L of Building Regulations, Water Calculations for Part G, and a planning report outlining how the development meets the energy related planning requirements.
The site has a planning condition requiring the development achieves a 10% improvement over Part L regulations through renewable technologies. The planning report outlines how the development meets the condition through modelling the site’s overall energy use, identifying the best overall strategy for reduction, and detailing the proposed use of renewables across the site.
Based on the site’s location, size and the developers current energy stratergy we suggested a arrary of solar photovoltaics (PV). The plots we suggested to place PV maximise the benefit of the technology, while being mindful of aestics, costs and other technical factors.
